Mark Monaghan

Mark is a director in forensic services. He joined Grant Thornton’s Dublin office in 2018 and has a career spanning over 15 years. Mark has wide experience and knowledge in IT, specialising in Digital Forensics, Incident Response, Cybersecurity and eDiscovery and has worked on more than 300 digital forensic and incident response cases.

From working on Irish, EU and US investigations to intellectual property theft cases, Mark has built-up varied experience across the Digital Forensics and Incident Response sphere. In his career, he has successfully completed hundreds of investigative cases.

He regularly applies his expertise in the identification, preservation, collection and processing of forensic data in high profile and time sensitive cases. 

Mark has given expert witness testimony in the Irish Courts and also at a statutory bodies' Inquires regulating healthcare professionals. He is also an adjunct lecturer in digital forensics and incident response at National College of Ireland (NCI) helping the third-level institution deliver its flagship Master of Science in Cybersecurity course.

  • Master’s degree in Digital Investigation and Forensic Computing from University College Dublin
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin
