Grant Thornton appoints Emma Broderick as new tax partner

Grant Thornton Ireland has appointed Emma Broderick as a new tax partner and Head of Indirect Tax.

A highly accomplished indirect tax advisor, Emma has significant sector expertise advising both domestic and international clients on Irish and international VAT issues across a range of industries, with particular focus on financial services, real estate commercial property, technology and fintech.

Emma brings over 14 years’ experience in VAT consulting, compliance and indirect tax strategy and optimisation. Joining the Indirect Tax team, Emma will focus on VAT in Financial Services, advising leading companies across funds & asset management, banking & payments, and insurance.

Emma also brings a breadth of experience in supporting businesses navigating the complexities of VAT in the Digital Age and is taking up the role at an important time for businesses facing an increasingly complex tax environment and significant potential VAT reforms on the horizon.

Emma’s appointment brings to eight the number of new partners to join the firm in 2024 and builds on the continued growth and expertise of the firm's tax offering, supported by a team of over 300 dedicated tax professionals. She joins the firm as Grant Thornton continues its strong growth across all areas of its business, driven by increasing client demand and a dynamic, evolving market.

Emma holds a First-Class Bachelor of Civil Law degree and is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor, achieving 1st place in Ireland in her final CTA exams.
