Tanya joined the firm as a Director in 2022 and leads the Actuarial team in Grant Thornton Ireland and the Actuarial Centre of Excellence for Grant Thornton Worldwide. Tanya is a qualified actuary with significant expertise across the Non-Life Insurance industry in areas such as Regulation and Risk Management, Solvency II Actuarial Function, Pricing Governance and Capital Modelling.
She has strong commercial and regulatory acumen, gained from her various roles to date in both the Insurance industry and with the Central Bank of Ireland (Irish regulator).
Tanya has over 10 years of experience working in Non-Life Insurance and has held key roles within the European headquarters of one of the world’s largest General Insurers. The roles spanned a number of areas including Risk (ORSA, Risk Management Frameworks etc.), Solvency II Pillar I (Technical Provisions, Capital Modelling etc.) as well as Pricing Governance and Underwriting Portfolio and Performance Management.
Tanya also brings the regulatory perspective having worked within the Insurance Supervision department of the Central Bank of Ireland. This role involved active engagement with a number of Irish based Non-Life insurers; presenting at Committee meetings with the Governor of the Bank and also representing the Bank at EIOPA conferences in Frankfurt.
