Shane is a Director within our Financial Crime Compliance offering and has extensive experience leading and project managing several large scale global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing Terrorism (CFT) due diligence exercises.
Shane’s recent experience has seen him lead cross-functional teams consisting of up to 50+ regulatory consultants across Global Systemically Important Banks (G-SIB), Global Asset Managers, and Irish Pillar Banks.
As part of his work, Shane has supported and advised a number of senior stakeholders across the financial services sector including reporting to Global Heads of Operations and Heads of Financial Crime Compliance.
Shane is specialised in AML and CFT risk and compliance, supporting national and international regulated financial institutions in developing AML/CFT risk and governance policies and frameworks, and assisting in the design of governance structures and processes. His extensive experience has seen him working with both Irish and global institutions across the Banking, Asset Management, Payment, E-Money and Insurance sectors.
He possesses a deep understanding of the level of granularity that regulators require and has supported a number of clients in the completion of AML / CFT governance and risk related independent reviews and subsequent remediation programs in light of the increased supervisory powers and enforcement appetite from global regulators.
Shane has an in-depth understanding of global AML / CFT regulations, regulatory expectations, and industry best practice across the financial services sector, combined with project management expertise.
