Experience
Peter joined Grant Thornton in 2007 and was admitted to the partnership in 2010.
He works predominantly with large corporate groups, both headquartered in Ireland and overseas. Peter’s primary role with his clients is ensuring that their operations are structured as tax efficiently as possible. Peter also advises clients on significant transactions, such as property acquisitions, asset sales or disposals and Intellectual Property (IP) migrations.
Many of Peter’s clients have significant IP. Peter advises these clients on valuable tax incentives and reliefs aimed at attracting IP to Ireland, including tax allowances, R&D tax credits and the Knowledge Development Box.
In his role as Co-Leader of the Global firm’s cross border tax planning practice, Peter works with many of the Grant Thornton member firms on cross border transactions. This includes both inbound and outbound investment.
In addition to the above, Peter has significant experience working on M&A transactions both in the Irish market and also overseas, often in conjunction with his Grant Thornton network colleagues.
Sector Experience
Peter’s clients include companies across a diverse range of sectors. He has a particular focus on technology, financial services and the pharma sector. He has also worked with several companies in the exploration sector. Peter has significant experience in the Public Private Partnership sector in Ireland and has advised on some of the largest transactions in the PPP market here.
