Experience
Gerard joined Grant Thornton in 2018. He has over 25 years’ experience in financial services and brings expert knowledge in reporting, data quality, management and governance and regulatory change initiatives. His most recent role prior to joining Grant Thornton was as a Senior Manager within the Chief Data Office in AIB covering Data Quality and Regulatory Change. He has extensive experience working with regulations and implementing solutions to meet new regulatory requirements.
Sector Experience
Gerard has a breadth of experience in various regulatory agendas. Key achievements include:
- Regulatory reporting engagements with a number of credit institutions including reviews of FINREP and Liquidity reporting.
- Regulatory reporting transformation lead for an International bank which included the redesign of the e2e reporting process for all regulatory reports.
- Data lineage and source mapping documentation for priority regulatory reports for a large financial institution.
- Regulatory reporting transformation programme delivery lead for an International Bank.
- Delivery of solutions to new regulatory reporting tasks including AnaCredit, EU AML 4th Directive, Central Credit Register, CBI Macro Prudential Monitoring.
- Delivery of the IFRS9 ECL accounting and reporting solution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce degree from UCD
- Chartered Accountant (FCA)
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
