Experience

Over the past 12 years Conor has held many senior roles in the Insurance industry including Head of Finance, Financial Controller and Finance Manager roles.

Conor has experience in the life, non-life, health, specialty and reinsurance industries and has prepared financial statements under Irish and UK GAAP and IFRS. He was also lead on various projects, where he partnered with the business to automate and improve various processes.

He is a proven team leader and is accomplished in financial control and reporting, regulatory compliance and project management.

Conor has extensive insurance industry experience which he has gained during the past 12 years in the employment of multinational companies. This experience comprises:

• financial controllership and reporting including preparing the annual financial statements and associated board papers and coordinating the interim and annual audits;
• planning, timetabling and resource management in line with deliverables;
• regulatory reporting and compliance including Solvency II requirements including HIA returns, QRTs, SFCR & RSR;
• sponsoring finance transformation projects which resulted in increased efficiencies in the finance function;
• finance lead on IFRS17 with a focus on timetabling, resourcing and process mapping;
• leading software (Clearwater & SAP) implementations with a focus on data migration and user acceptance testing;
• completing the annual budget and forecasting process;
• production and presentation of accounting treatment papers;
• managing finance teams of five plus qualified accountants (includes development, appraisal and mentorship of the team);
• evaluating financial performance, devising strategy and implementing and monitoring continuous improvement in systems and processes.
