Experience

Aisling joined Grant Thornton Ireland in June 2013 initially training in the Restructuring Department where she gained extensive experience over a variety of insolvency assignments. Aisling has since transitioned into Financial Services Consulting utilising her insolvency background and passion for sustainability to provide strategic advice to Financial Institutions across Europe.

Aisling currently leads the strategic operations and project management pillar within Sustainability leveraging her deep understanding of banking infrastructure to translate ambition and supervisory expectations into practical actions. She has worked with key clients on a range of projects covering business strategy, risk management and sustainability disclosures. Her expertise covers project and programme management, stakeholder engagement and governance. Aisling is currently the lead Pillar 3 and CDP disclosure SME within the Sustainability team in Grant Thornton Ireland.

Sustainability

  • Project Manager for a multi-year Sustainability Transformation Program within an Irish Pillar Bank.
  • Project Manager for design and implementation of an ESG Action Plan incorporating ECB guidelines.
  • Co-Founder of the ‘Green Team Network’ – a forum for connecting firms across the Irish Funds Industry to encourage collaboration and empower change towards a more sustainable environment.

Banking

  • Lead SME on the new Pillar 3 disclosure requirements incorporating ESG risks.
  • Operations and Enablement Project Manager for a secured NPL Portfolio sale.
  • Program management and execution of an unsecured NPL transaction of c€400m.
  • Project management of a document to data due diligence review for a Non-Performing secured loan portfolio.
  • Project management of a feasibility review to assess the proposed delivery of NPE strategy for c.€2.7bn portfolio.
  • Project management of the design and proposed implementation of a SPV to hold residential assets of max €1.7bn.
  • Project manager of the legal due diligence process end to end for two secured Non-Performing loan transactions.
  • Independent review of a client’s business lending policy, assessing its level of compliance under the Central Bank Guidelines.

Other

  • Aisling is a Non-Executive Director of Global Action Plan Ireland – an environmental NGO with the mission to support sustainable communities across Ireland.
  • Aisling is currently a member of the FinBiz 2030 Irish Taskforce – an initiative mandated by Chartered Accountants Worldwide to identify sustainable projects and drive activity that will affect positive change in a bid to help achieve the UN SDG’s by 2030.
  • Aisling has been recognized as the Chartered Star for 2020/21 by Chartered Accountants Ireland for her work to support the UN SDGs to date.
